This online self-study course examines Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) practices in the U.S. Tax System at the U.S. Department of Treasury.  The course provides Government Contractors with strategic insights on how a U.S. Tax organization adopts ERM across programs to enhance performance and service delivery; the benefits of ERM, and the outlook of ERM within tax administration. This course includes review questions, a glossary, videos, exercises, and a qualified assessment (quiz) to help participants understand ERM practices. After completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define the purpose of OMB Circular A-123
  • Define enterprise risk management
  • Identify the steps in a risk management process 
  • Identify the role culture plays in ERM success

  • Differentiate between a risk profile and a risk register
  • Identify methods for building an enterprise risk profile
  • Recognize ERM practices in the U.S. Tax System

Participants have 2 months from the start date to complete the self-study course.

Participants must complete a required qualified assessment (quiz) as part of the course and must obtain a minimum passing score of 75% to obtain a certificate of completion and CPEs. Participants can retake the qualified assessment (quiz) if less than a 75% score is achieved. Participants can retake the quiz 24 hours after the last attempt and as many times as necessary before the course ending date.
